Grizzlies Announce 2017-2018 Schedule

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies have officially introduced their schedule for the 2017-2018 season.

The Grizzlies will open the season Friday, October 13 in Colorado before they will return home Saturday, October 14 to host the Eagles at 7 p.m.
27 of the team’s 36 regular season home games will take place on Friday or Saturday; including an all-time high 15 Saturday home games.

The Grizzlies will be home for the holidays when they host Manchester the Wednesday, Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving Weekend November 22, 24 and 25. The Grizzlies are home over the Christmas holidays as well as they’ll host Colorado Saturday, December 23 and Idaho Friday and Saturday, December 29 and 30.

Utah will play three home and home Friday and Saturday series that will start on the road Friday nights and return to Maverik Center for Saturday action. (October 13/14: Idaho; October 20/21: Idaho; December 22/23: Colorado).

The Grizzlies will once again host 1:30 p.m. holiday matinees on Monday, January 16 against Rapid City for Martin Luther King Day and on Monday, February 19 for President’s Day against Idaho as well. 

The 2017-2018 promotional schedule will be released at a later date.

Utah will have a season-long seven-game home stand November 10-November 25 when they will host Fort Wayne, Colorado and Manchester.

The Grizzlies will complete the regular season at home against the Kansas City Mavericks for the second consecutive season.

The Grizzlies longest standing rivalry is with the Idaho Steelheads who they will meet for the 13th-straight season. Idaho and Utah are first and second in the ECHL in consecutive playoff appearances made. 

Idaho and Colorado will be seen the most of any other team, as they’ll each play seven games against Utah at Maverik Center.

11 different teams will come to Maverik Center, including: the first ever visit from Norfolk and the first visit for the Manchester Monarchs since 2004. Worcester, Massachusetts will visit Utah for the first time since 2003.

The Grizzlies have visited all road cities before but haven’t been to Manchester, New Hampshire since 2005 and they haven’t traveled to Worcester since 2004.
