Coach Tim Branham Breaks Down Training Camp Roster

Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham breaks down every player in training camp here.

Igor Bobkov- “Igor is a big athletic goalie with a great work ethic, his experience in the AHL last season will be beneficial to our hockey club.”
Aaron Dell- “Having Aaron, a proven championship winning goaltender, is a huge asset to our organization. His presence in net will add a lot of confidence to our team.”
Ben Meisner- “Ben played very well at the end of last season for the Grizzlies, he’s quick to the puck and a tireless worker.”

T.J. Battani- “TJ is a tough kid who will do anything for his teammates, his energy brings a lot to the team.”
Nick Craven- “Nick is a big body who protects the puck well, he had a short stint last season in the AHL and has shown the ability to put points on the board.”
Brent Gwidt- “Brent had a good audition here in Utah last year on a tryout following college. He plays a solid two-way game and has a big
body presence.”
Kris Hogg- “Kris is a tenacious, two-way player, who’s not afraid to go to the dirty areas and it led to points last year in Europe.”
Jamie MacQueen- "Jamie has good speed, a hard shot and is a big body. He’ll be a great addition here; earned some solid AHL experience and will be a big asset in the community too.”
Dylen McKinlay- “Dylen is an energetic player, who is good on both ends of the ice and is dangerous on special teams. I am looking forward to his transition as a pro player.”
Kenton Miller- “Kenton is a pure goal scorer. He has been able to produce at every level he has played. We look forward to him continuing that trend here in Utah.”
Brance Orban- “Brance has a knack for finding scoring areas and he is smart defensively. His style of play will translate well to the pro game and we look forward to having him here in Utah.”
Adam Pineault- “Adam’s experience will be extremely valuable for our hockey club. He is a proven winner and will be heavily looked upon this season on and off the ice.”
Paul Rodrigues- “Paul had a lot of success in his college career, he’s a highly skilled forward”
Vincent Scarsella- “Vincent has quick feet, quick hands, was a linemate of Ottawa’s Cory Conacher at a successful college program in Canisius”
Berkley Scott- “Berkley is a big kid, scored some big third period goals for the Grizzlies last year during their ten-game unbeaten streak”
David Vallorani- “Having won the ECHL championship with David last season, I know what he brings to the table. He is extremely talented with the puck and will bring a lot of offense to our lineup.”
Jon Whitelaw- “Jon had a good college career, he’s shifty, has good hands, on-ice vision and will be a good power-play guy”

Channing Boe- “I am really very excited to work with Channing this season. His work ethic and character is what attracted me to him. He will be a very important player on our back end.”
Mike Folkes- “Mike is a hardnosed, d-man, who is tough to play against, he excels on the penalty-kill and has a tremendous work ethic.”
Tyler Hinds- “Tyler is a two-way defensemen who is very good in his own end and got a good taste of playoff hockey last year.”
Brendan Jamison- “Brendan was a captain in college and brings high character and leadership to us, he’s a solid, steady defensemen”
Martin Lee- “I am excited to have Martin back in Utah. He is a big body who is capable of playing the tough minutes for us. I look forward to working with him this season.”
Derick Martin- “Derick’s character and leadership will play a key role for our team this season. He has always been known as a player who is tough to play against, and that is what we are looking for.  His daily preparation will be great for our young guys.”
Darren Rowe- “Darren showcased himself well when he joined the Grizzlies at the end of last season. I'm looking forward to see him develop his pro game.”
Teigan Zahn- “Teigan is a good 2-way defenseman, tough to play against, has high character and isn’t afraid to mix it up”
