West Valley City, Utah – The Victoria Salmon Kings scored a power-play goal with 8:52 left in regulation to defeat the Utah Grizzlies 2-1 Saturday night at the E-Center.

Evan Kotsopoulos gave Utah a 1-0 lead 9:21 into the first period scoring on a penalty-shot for his third of the year.

The Salmon Kings tied the game at one 8:04 into the second period as Wes Goldie banged the puck home off of a rebound off of the back wall.

The game was a duel of goaltenders with Mike Mole stopping 26 of 28 for Utah and Julien Ellis stopping 35 of 36 from the Grizzlies, including 14 in the third period and two in the final seconds.

The Grizzlies now hit the road for three games in Idaho Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Face-off all three evenings is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

Utah remains with our leading scorer and captain Ryan Kinasewich who is injured and missed his eighth-straight game tonight. Defenseman Jordan Hart missed his third-straight game injured.

Utah returns home Tuesday, December 9 hosting Idaho to open a three-game home stand.
